Olympic Wiki Page The Olympics entertains many with its many games and with the hardworking efforts of the teams. Also with the respect one team gives one another. The Olympics are interesting because the history interest many and because hockey excited the people that watch it. First, the history interests the many that watch it. For example, the startup of the Olympics in 1896 was good after it being banned almost 1,500 years ago ("Modern Olympic Games"). Also, originating from Athens in Greece many said that the games should be held there ("Modern Games"). Along with that, the nine sports that were in the Olympics were: athletics, fencing, gymnastics, weightlifting, wrestling, swimming, tennis and shooting ("Modern Olympic Games"). Winter Olympics popular sport is hockey. Second, hockey interests the fans. Furthermore, the women’s hockey has been fighting against Canada for a gold medal since 1990("Winter Olympics: Ice Hockey"). In 1998 the Olympic Committee said that only professional can play so there would not be another “Miracle on Ice” ("Winter Olympics: Ice Hockey"). Hockey was one of the sports that helped launch the Winter Olympics ("Modern Olympic Games"). With the help of the Winter Olympics many fans enjoy it. In conclusion, the Olympics interest many because people have watched it for many years and because the fans enjoy hockey a sport. With the huge event coming every two years the Olympics are interesting to watch.
